Northwest MLS NWMLS LogoHousing around Western Washington is on an upward trajectory, but inadequate inventory “in the right prices and locations” makes for a “very difficult market for purchasers and brokers,” according to an executive with one multi-office real estate company.

New figures from Northwest Multiple Listing Service show inventory increased in May compared to a year ago, but brokers say competition is keen. “Multiple offers and escalation clauses occur on a regular basis for properties that are extremely well priced and in great condition,” reports Dick Beeson, principal managing broker at RE/MAX Professionals in Tacoma.

Here in Southwest Washington, being so close to Portland, OR we often hear “Keep Portland Weird.” While we love all the weirdness that Portland has to offer we bring a different form of weird to the table once the “Go 4th Festival” comes to town.  The Cardboard Regatta is something unique and weird that Longview offers its citizens and visitors to enjoy during the summer.  This makes the sixth year for the race which takes place on July 2nd from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm at Lake Sacajawea. The boats are man-powered no motors to help push them to the finish line. The theme for this year’s race is Sports so pack up your best sportswear and get ready for a fun-filled evening.  Personally, I can’t wait to see what type of boats will be racing this year.
