That old saying is it is American as Apple pie. Yes, Baseball! It is that time of year that American’s look forward to Baseball season! In June of 2010, Cowlitz County jumped onto the Baseball bandwagon with a professional style minor league team named the Cowlitz Black Bears. The 2014 Season kicks off on June 5th against the Portland Ports here in Longview at 6:35 pm followed by 3 more home games against Medford Rogues.
Story field has many areas for fans to enjoy while taking in the game. There is the party suite and Bob’s sporting goods party deck on the left side of the field, a “Home Plate Club” behind home plate, General admission seating on the third base side of the field while on the first base side is a picnic area and play area for the kids to enjoy as well. If it has been a while since visiting story field it may look a little different as it was remodeled in 2010 before the Black bears first season in Longview. Prices on tickets are very affordable starting out at $8 for general admission, $7 per person in the picnic area with a minimum of 6, grandstands are $10 each, “Home Plate Club” $15 with waiting service, the party deck is $17 if you want the all you can eat offer it is $26.
